Taylor Swift Buys Internet .Porn
That’s gotta be my clickbaitiest title ever.
So Yahoo’s homepage asks the question, “Why is Taylor Swift buying a .porn Web suffix?”* Obviously clickbait, but one worth investigating. The full story is that a new domain suffix – .sucks – is on the near horizon. The suffix .porn is already out there. Swift, Microsoft, and Harvard have reportedly already bought into .porn. While Swift.porn sounds tailor-made as a service for speedy, uh, delivery, something about combining “micro,” “soft,” and “porn” just seems meta-contradictory somehow.
I’m waiting for someone to start a nightskyradio.sucks site. I’ll know I’ve hit the big time once I’ve attracted hatefollowers.

Beck And Call
So I just heard that Beck won the Grammy award and Kanye West is mad about it because he thinks Beyonce should have won it.
Quoth West, after the ceremony …
I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. We ain’t gonna play with them no more. And Beck needs to respect artistry and he should’ve given his award to Beyoncé.
Because when you keep on diminishing art and not respecting the craft and smacking people in their face after they deliver monumental feats of music, you’re disrespectful to inspiration.
Beck? Not a real artist? Like his songs or not, he is an artist, who plays multiple instruments and writes his own music. As for feats of music, he’s had two gold records, one platinum, and one double platinum, won several awards, and got every Gen X kid in America chanting “Soy un perdedor” in the 1994.
I’m also pretty sure Beyonce never had the Grim Reaper squeegeeing windshields in any of her videos.
I’ve not heard either Beck’s album or Beyonce’s, but I would bet sound unheard that Beck’s is at least as good or better. In the next day or two I’ll hunt them up and give each one a listen and see if Beck really is “disrespecting artistry” somehow. [ Addendum: I forgot, posting very late at night as I did, to mention that Beyonce’s singing ability is far better than Beck’s. Gotta give her that. ]
My favorite part of this nitwittery is how social media lit up like a Christmas tree on fire in a mirrored ball warehouse wondering who this Beck guy is. Not like he’s ever had a hit song on the radio or videos on MTV or anything.
And why is Kanye white knighting for Beyonce? Last I heard, Kanye was married to Kim Kardashian, why’s he out there reppin’ for another (married) woman? Again? Does she snap her fingers and he comes yapping, or does he do this on his own?
Shirley Manson of the band Garbage wrote an open letter slamming West –

It is YOU who is so busy disrespecting artistry.
You disrespect your own remarkable talents and more importantly you disrespect the talent, hard work and tenacity of all artists when you go so rudely and savagely after such an accomplished and humble artist like BECK.

Feminism has gone completely off the rails. In the past, there was at least some loosely defined fragment of a plan built on some vague goal of “liberation.” Now all the feminists with half a clue have aged out, died, or left the movement, leaving the useful idiots they recruited running the show. Setting The Tone
2014 was an epic kaleidoscope of surrealism, one that I thought would be difficult to equal, if not top.
It’s been said that whatever happens on New Year’s Day sets the tone for the entire year. In that case, 2015 is gearing up to make 2014 look positively mundane and boring.

Pottymouths Strike Again
I would have posted this yesterday, but I didn’t want to ruin anyone’s holiday.
The “Potty-mouth Princess Posse” is back, dropping f-bombs like a rapper dropping names.
Just for laughs, let’s take that “1 in 4” statement as sort of a fact. Even if statiscally there is 1 domestic violence incident for every 4 women in a given area, say 25,000 DV cases in a city with 100,000 women over the age of 18 , that doesn’t mean 25% of the women were victims. It’s often the same small percentage of women who keep going back to the man that hit them.¹ So if repeat occurrences aren’t accounted for, the numbers will look much higher than they are.
“Society barely lifts a finger when men raise their fists,” they claim. Considering the cops arrest men every night for domestic violence, I doubt that. Raising a fist isn’t even necessary… just raising his voice can get a man jailed. Just the accusation alone without proof gets the law on your doorstep.² Not to mention all the charities, shelters, and activist groups dedicated to helping battered women. But society hasn’t done anything.
And when did the “silence” about domestic violence start? It’s not like it hasn’t been covered in an endless stream of books, movies, TV, songs, comics, etc. throughout the decades.

As for that bit at the end – “Baby, you provoked me. I was drunk!” – I hate to say it, but there’s some truth to that. A surprising number of women will provoke a drunk man, angering him until he gets violent. Some women even hit the man first, even when they know it’s gonna get them punched.
¹ There’s no mention of that in the video, of course.
² I don’t blame the cops for this. They know it’s crap, but they have to follow the law as written.

Burying The Truth?

A man living as a woman who suddenly passed away from a brain aneurysm was buried as “Geoffrey” not “Jennifer.”
Okay, whatever. I don’t care what name a person wants on their headstone. I don’t think it’s a big deal how the family chooses to lay to rest one of its members, since the deceased isn’t really going to be worried about it at that point. But again, I really don’t care how anyone outside of my own family handles funerals.
But now California has passed the Respect After Death Act –
It requires any official responsible for completing a transgender person’s death certificate to ensure it represents the deceased person’s gender expression, as documented in other government-issued documents, or evidenced by gender confirmation medical procedures.
Masen Davis of the Transgender Law Center, a cosponsor of the bill, said this was a “common-sense bill that will help protect the dignity of our loved ones upon their passing.”
This is where the failure to think ahead comes in. Will the deaths of transgenders make note of their transgender status? If not, more deaths will be statistically attributed to women. For one, suicide rates are abnormally high among transgender people. After this law, will the numbers read as suicides among women increasing? Will fewer women die from breast cancer, statistically speaking? How will this affect statistics and subsequent medical research?
Then again, this might be a Blow For Equality in disguise. Men generally die younger than women… if transgender men are listed as women when they die, that would help achieve statistical Age Of Death Parity among men and women.
Bu maybe this is exactly what progressives want. If women can be numerically shown to be dying younger and more often, feminists can agitate for more government favors.
