Good Heavens Miss Sakamoto!

The Pew Research center and Smithsonian magazine have a 13-question Science & Technology quiz.

Going by their own statistical brackets, I am a white male between 30 and 49 with a high school education. I answered all 13 correctly, doing better than 93% of the public and the same as 7%.

How’d you do?

  1. Missed one – and knew it as soon as I hit next question – Nitrogen/Atmosphere. DUH!

  2. I also missed Nitrogen. 12\13

    Or

“You scored better than 85% of the public, below 7% and the same as 8%.”

That’s more than a little shocking that 85% can’t answer that stuff.

  3. Who needs nitrogen anyway! Stupid element!

  4. You’re not the only one who knew that–I also got all of them right.

Reminds me of an unnoticed joke in “Mars Attacks”. The Martian that seduced Martin Short had to chew nitrogen-laced gum because there isn’t sufficient nitrogen in our atmosphere for it to breathe. When I saw the movie in the theater I burst out laughing and everybody else looked at me like I was a freak.

They were right, of course, but at least I got the joke.

  5. 13

  6. Can we just have a do-over?
