I found out that Kouji Tamaki (an 80s 90s icon) is considered “the Japanese Donald Fagen” and that his band Anzen Chitai (almost literally “safe space”!) is considered to have been the Japanese equivalent of Steely Dan.
My only point of contention is that they find better foreign models for music videos.
