2015
You’ve got to admit it
At this point in time that it’s clear
The future looks bright
On that train all graphite and glitter
Undersea by rail
Ninety minutes from New York to Paris
Well by seventy-six we’ll be A.O.K.

Donald Fagen, “I.G.Y. (What A Beautiful World)”*
2015 has been a crazy year, in the most literal sense of the word. Grab your spandex jacket and go have a great night.

What a fantastic song! It’s like “Deacon Blues” for me in that I knew the tune and liked it and was vaguley aware it was Dan or Fagen related, but I hadn’t given it a solid listen until you reintroduced it. “Deacon Blues” is now one of my favorite songs and this one’s quickly climbing up there.
Of course, I’ve been missing all the dark irony of “What a beautiful world it will be” all these years because I didn’t attend to the rest of the song.
Hey, I was born in the International Geophysical Year! Does that make me an Ingeopharious?
Something-ne-something-farious, sure.
See, you gotta have me as your musical director. Not just for your site but for your life. 😉 I bring lots of dark irony.
We should exchange blog accesses. It’d be like a blood brother type thing. I don’t know what I’d add here, but it would be almost impossible for you not to drive traffic up there.
