Catholic . . . Oh no, not you, too?
Thanks for reminding me of Lent. Believe it or not, the Lenten requirements don’t necessarily apply the same all over the world. It depends on the bishops in a given country. Next time, you could maybe slip out of the country and snarf down some burgers with a good conscience.
As for the 40 days, it might be a good idea to give up something you wouldn’t do anyway. Of the top of my head, I’m giving up listening to ABBA songs (unless they’re playing as background music and there’s nothing I can do about it).
I was raised Catholic, went to Catholic school where we had Mass once a week before classes, but never kept up with it on my own. I did hang around with a Church in my early 20s, but they were … not a cult, but not really a Church. Long story. Since then, I’ve mostly just tried to live morally (failing some) and be aware of God, but I think I need to do more.

I’ll give up shooting eightballs in the alley while lighting drunks on fire and listening to Carly Rae Jepsen.
